Absolutely impressive that this kinetic action/suspense movie manages to swiftly and accurately articulate two distinct philosophical theories of time, and do so well enough that when finally the movie comes down on one side, we know exactly what has transpired. Also, this might be the most successful movie to use the question of which model of time travel is correct as its primary point of suspense -- we even get several breadcrumbs to throw attentive viewers off the scent! It's not lost on Tony Scott et. al that part of the reason time travel is so damn cinematic is that replaying events is a lot like rewinding and rewatching a movie -- the scenes in the FBI command center feel exactly like a director working with his editor to find the right angle and pace to a scene. And it's not lost on me that Kodak Vision2 100T film stock looks incredible.
Have we met?
